10/28/24 - 11/1/24

Reading:  After we wrap up our work with the Captain Arsenio story, the students will create their own five-paragraph explanatory essays, a type of writing that explains a topic to an audience by sharing knowledge and ideas.

Science:  Mrs. Gemmell will continue to work with us in our "Let's Make a Lava Lamp" unit.  In our October STEM challenge, we will design and build a small prototype of a literacy station that can be placed in a public area to encourage book-sharing and reading.

Social Studies:  Chapter 4 of the textbook is called "Spain Builds an Empire."  We are using the textbook to learn how to read, take notes, and summarize nonfiction texts.

Math:  We will spend most of the week working on our haunted volume village project.  All of the information including sample work and a rubric is posted in Google Classroom.
