Science: Mrs. Gemmell will continue to work with us in our "Let's Make a Lava Lamp" unit. In our October STEM activity, we will design and build a small prototype of a literacy station that can be placed in a public area to encourage book-sharing and reading.

Students will be creating a “Haunted Volume Village” as an end-of-unit project in math class. We have been learning how to calculate the volume of rectangular prisms, and we hope this project is an engaging and fun way for students to showcase their learning! Students will showcase and expand their knowledge by creating spooky buildings/objects of their choice with a partner. The Haunted Volume Village will be created with boxes, and we need your help to make this project happen!
Please help your child find some empty boxes from home to bring to school ASAP. Students should try to find boxes that are easy to bring to school and on the bus. Boxes larger than a backpack will be difficult to wrap! If possible, please also send a roll of scotch tape. The students will be wrapping their own boxes!
Some examples of boxes might be:
Empty medicine boxes
Soap boxes
Pasta boxes
Amazon boxes
Food boxes
Toothpaste boxes
Jewelry boxes
