Reading: Module 2 features two different stories from the fantasy genre, The Secret Garden and The Miracle of Spring. After we wrap up The Miracle of Spring, we will work with The Poem That Will Not End: Fun with Poetic Forms and Voices. As always our ELA time provides us with opportunities to respond to texts in complete sentences and full paragraphs, practice vocabulary, and work on our reading skills. Amira and IXL are essential in helping us build our skills.
Science: We'll be using Mystery Science to help us think like scientists. "Project Earth" is our current topic.
Social Studies: Chapter 5 of the textbook is called "The Struggle to Found Colonies."
Math: Module 3 is our final module of Unit 2, which means we are working our way towards our Unit 2 test. The test should be sometime during the week of January 13th.
