4/6/26 - 4/10/26

 


SEL: We will spend time working on the 5 areas of the SEL wheel, including self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, self-awareness, and responsible decision-making.  

Reading:  Module 3, Natural Disasters, will help us practice nonfiction reading strategies, learn vocabulary, answer comprehension questions, and practice our RACES paragraph response writings.   

Science:  We will wrap up this unit with Lesson 4, called "Solids, Liquids, and Gases."

Social Studies:  Chapter 7 in the textbook is called "The Fight For a Continent."

Math: Our Illinois state assessments are scheduled for the mornings of April 7, 8, and 10.  When we are not testing, we will continue working in Unit 6 on expressions and equations.  There are 16 lessons in this unit.  Click here to learn more about Unit 6.

3/23/26 - 3/27/26

 


SEL: We will continue to focus on one Women's History Month historical figure every day in March.  

Reading:  Our Illinois state assessments are scheduled for the mornings of March 24-26.  When we are not testing, Module 3, Natural Disasters, will help us practice nonfiction reading strategies, learn vocabulary, answer comprehension questions, and practice our RACES paragraph response writings.   

Science:  Lesson 4 is called "Solids, Liquids, and Gases."

Social Studies:  Chapter 7 in the textbook is called "The Fight For a Continent."

Math: We are currently working in Unit 6 on expressions and equations.  The sub-unit quiz is scheduled for Monday, March 23.  There are 16 lessons in this unit.  Click here to learn more about Unit 6.

SEL: We will continue to focus on one Women's History Month historical figure every day in March.  

Reading:  We are back in the ELA workbook!  The lessons in Module 3 will help us practice nonfiction reading strategies, learn vocabulary, answer comprehension questions, and practice our RACES paragraph response writings.   

Science:  Lesson 3 is about physical and chemical changes, and Lesson 4 is called "Solids, Liquids, and Gases."

Social Studies:  Chapter 6 in the textbook will help us learn about life in the English colonies.

Math: We are currently working in Unit 6 on expressions and equations.  The sub-unit quiz will come after Lesson 9, and there are 16 lessons in this unit.  Click here to learn more about Unit 6.

3/9/26 - 3/13/26

 


SEL: We will continue to focus on one Women's History Month historical figure every day in March.  

Reading:  We are wrapping up our narrative writings.  Then we will begin Module 3 in our ELA workbook.  The stories in this module will help us answer the question "How can learning about natural disasters make us safer?" 

Science:  Lesson 2 is all about mixtures and solutions, and Lesson 3 is about physical and chemical changes.

Social Studies:  We are working hard to turn our Native American research into a well-thought-out podcast that tells a story.  It takes great collaboration to support each other in learning and using this new podcast technology!  We will also use Chapter 6 in the textbook to learn about life in the English colonies.
