CogAT Testing: We will spend the bulk of our ELA time this week on cognitive abilities testing which will measure student reasoning and problem-solving abilities in verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal areas.
Reading: Module 3 is all about natural disasters. These stories will help us build our nonfiction reading skills. Eruption! Volcanoes and the Science of Saving Lives is up first! As always our ELA time provides us with opportunities to respond to texts in complete sentences and full paragraphs, practice vocabulary, and work on our reading and grammar skills. Amira and IXL are essential in helping us build our skills.
Science: We will spend our science time catching up on social studies.
Social Studies: Chapter 5 of the textbook is called "The Struggle to Found Colonies." Lesson 2 is "New European Colonies" and Lesson 3 is "The First Colonies."
Math: Module 2 is about adding and subtracting decimals. Module 3 is about conversions. Working on math IXL Action Plan skills is one of the best ways for my math students to build those foundational skills that will help them for years to come.
