Reading: We will wrap up our work with The Poem That Will Not End: Fun with Poetic Forms and Voices. As always our ELA time provides us with opportunities to respond to texts in complete sentences and full paragraphs, practice vocabulary, and work on our reading skills. Amira and IXL are essential in helping us build our skills. Additionally, we will work on a few grammar lessons before we begin ELA Module 3: Natural Disasters.
Science: We'll be using Mystery Science to help us think like scientists. "Project Earth" is our current topic. Also, we'll be working with Mrs. Gemmell to begin our brand new Inspire Science curriculum on Earth's Patterns and Movement.
Social Studies: Chapter 5 of the textbook is called "The Struggle to Found Colonies."
Math: Unit 3 is all about place value and decimals. Module 1 in particular focuses on "whole number and decimal place value." Working on math IXL Action Plan skills is one of the best ways for my math students to build those foundational skills that will help them for years to come.
