Reading:  We're cruising through Module 3, which is all about natural disasters.  These stories will help us build our nonfiction reading skills.  We will also soon begin working on a narrative writing unit that will help us learn the essential elements of a fiction story, as well as the steps in the writing process.

Science:  We have wrapped up the "Earth's Patterns and Movement" portion of Unit 4.  We'll focus solely on social studies for a few weeks before Mrs. Gemmel returns to help us resume the last part of Unit 4 "Earth and Space."

Social Studies:  Chapter 5 Lesson 4 will help us dig a little deeper into the 13 English colonies.  Colony project details will be posted in Google Classroom soon!

3/17/25 - 3/21/25

Reading:  Module 3 is all about natural disasters.  These stories will help us build our nonfiction reading skills.  As always our ELA time provides us with opportunities to respond to texts in complete sentences and full paragraphs, practice vocabulary, and work on our reading and grammar skills.  Amira and IXL are essential in helping us build our skills.

Science:  STEM coach, Mrs. Gemmell, will support us in Our Earth's Patterns and Movement unit.

Social Studies:  Chapter 5 Lesson 4 will help us dig a little deeper into the 13 English colonies.  Colony project details will be posted in Google Classroom soon!

Math:  Module 4 is about division and the area model.  The Unit 3 test will be towards the end of this week or the beginning of next week.  Working on math IXL Action Plan skills is one of the best ways for my math students to build those foundational skills that will help them for years to come.

Social Studies:  Chapter 5 Lesson 4 will help us dig a little deeper into the 13 English colonies.  We are spending a lot of time talking about colonies because, at the end of Chapter 5, the students will work collaboratively in groups to take what they have learned in class and develop their own colonies!

Math:  Module 4 is about division and the area model.  The Unit 3 test will come after we finish this fourth module.  Working on math IXL Action Plan skills is one of the best ways for my math students to build those foundational skills that will help them for years to come.
