1/5/26 - 1/9/26

SEL:  Being an effective communicator is our January learner characteristic focus.  Additionally, we will spend time studying Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Reading:  Our second module is called What a Story.  Our essential question is "How does genre affect the way a story is told?"  This week, we will use a play to practice reading strategies, learn vocabulary, answer comprehension questions, and practice our RACES paragraph response writings.   There will also be short grammar lessons sprinkled throughout our week.  Don't forget Into Reading has an online component.  Students can reread our stories and practice vocabulary under the "Assignments" tab in Into Reading.

Science:  We have made it to the "Stars and Their Patterns" portion of the unit.  There will be another STEM opportunity to show learning at the end of this unit.

Social Studies:  Chapter 5, Lesson 3 is "The First Colonies."

Math: We are currently working through Unit 4, which is Dividing Fractions.  Our "sub-unit" quiz will be this week.  Click here to learn more about this unit.
