1/8/24 - 1/12/24

A note from our building instructional coach:

Are you interested in a way to keep your Prairieview Panther engaged in reading and math learning opportunities over Winter Vacation?  If so, I would like to suggest the IXL “Winter Adventure Skill Plan”.  These daily skill plans will keep your Panther engaged over winter break with this collection of IXL skills and challenges! They'll learn and review critical mid-year concepts and reinforce them through offline activities.

If you are looking for something quicker, your learner(s) can always visit their IXL "assessments" tab and choose skills on their action plan to work on over break.  Here is a student friendly video tutorial your student can watch to help them get into their plan.

This is not required, completely optional, and there is no expectation that students complete the Winter Adventure Skill Plan.

Reading:  The last story in Module 2 is The Poem That Will Not End: Fun with Poetic Forms and Voices.  However, there are several grammar lessons that we will need to tackle before we are ready to move into Module 3 "Natural Disasters."

Math: Module 3 contains more lessons that will help us with common denominators, and our Unit 2 test will follow our completion of this module.

Science:  Lesson 5 of the Chemical Magic unit is called "Gases & Particle Models."

Social Studies:  Chapter 5, Lesson 1 is called "Hard Times in Virginia."  Chapter 5, Lesson 2 will help us learn about the new European colonies set up by the French and the Dutch.
