SEL: In November, we will use our SEL time to practice gratitude.
Reading: We have just scratched the surface of our explanatory writing unit. The students will be working on their own five-paragraph explanatory essays, a type of writing that explains a topic to an audience by sharing knowledge and ideas. We will use this writing to work through the steps in the writing process.
Science: We will begin to wrap up our "Earth's Pattern and Movement" module with a STEM project. The students will have to design a model to show their understanding of either the changes in the length and direction of shadows, the cycle of a day and night, moon phases, or seasonal changes.
Social Studies: Chapter 5 is called "The Struggle to Found Colonies." The first lesson is about the colony of Jamestown
Math: Unit 3 is all about unit rates and percentages. There will be 15-17 lessons in this unit, and the quiz will occur after the 8th lesson. Click here to learn more about this new unit.
